New on the TAF blog!

Fifth graders from Brigadoon Elementary researched native plants, grew herb starts, and transplanted them into TAF@Saghalie's community garden, creating a living project that middle and high schoolers will continue to nurture with a long-term vision of a farm-to-table program.

And many of those same Brigadoon students will be joining TAF@Saghalie as 6th graders next year, where they can keep tending the garden they helped build.
Student ambassador Neveah, an 8th grader, put it best: "I get to see what experiences they're going to have this year and next year, seeing their plants grow with them. I'm happy they get to experience these things so soon."

TAF has been named the 2026 Distinguished Community Partner by the University of Washington Tacoma School of Education!

On June 10th, our Executive Director, Trish Millines Dziko, accepted the award at UW Tacoma's Hooding Ceremony on behalf of the TAF team.

We are so proud of this recognition and grateful for every partner, educator, and student who makes this work possible. 💙

Did you know that TAF supports students across Washington state? We were honored to join the Yakima community at Stanton Academy last week to help unveil a transformed courtyard and mural, the result of a project-based learning initiative where students didn't just study their curriculum, they brought it to life. The updated space now has a basketball hoop, volleyball net, expanded seating and greenery.

Thank you to all of the volunteers, students, parents, staff, and community members who led this important project!
