It’s been a while! I recently wrote down my experience sailing from The Netherlands to Spain on an engineless tall ship. Not my best photography, but one of my greatest adventures so far. Hope you enjoy!
Tres Hombres - The Joining of a Ship and Souls - Sandy Lam Photography One of my favorite things about my job is that I get to learn about the amazing work so many people do locally and globally. People who have made it their life passion to bring their cause to the world. Whether it’s rebuilding a 100+ yr. old boat, reading stories to kids dressed as a …

I love it when people just go with it. I was feeling uninspired by photos of cocktails on the counter so as soon as our bartender Cari walked in, I handed her some lipstick and said, "Will you be my drink model?" She said yes of course.
Pucker those lips for this special Valentine's Day cocktail: genever, aperol, broVo RG2, grapefruit juice, and Chandon sparkling rosé.

Death is a strange thing. We all know it's coming. That one day we will leave this earth. Yet most of us don't know what to do with it. People grieve and heal in so many different ways. It brings out the best and the worst in people. It's something I have not had to deal with too many times in my life, but when it does happen, it never gets any easier.
As a photographer, I am so humbled to capture some of life's most amazing moments and chapters in people's lives. So when you're taking wedding photos, death is probably the last thing you would be thinking about. Unfortunately, I recently learned one of of the couples I've had the honor of photographing a couple years ago met death unexpectedly at a time when life was just getting started. Katie, (one of my favorite brides ever...don't mess with military wives!) lost her husband Adam while he was deployed in service. They recently had a daughter, Isabel Elena four months ago. I can't even begin to comprehend how tragic this must feel for them, and I've been thinking about it all week. I still haven't been able to fully process but thought I would share.
If you can relate and want to help this beautiful family during this time, you can donate to a Go Fund Me campaign set up for them. https://www.gofundme.com/in-honor-of-adam-apodaca

So much fun with these goofy goobers. Time flies! I did my first ever engagement shoot with these two five years ago and now they're having a baby! I love watching family and friends grow together. :)
Capturing a place in time for families.
