Earlier this week, the governor signed the Millionaires Tax into law. This is a historic step in fixing Washington's upside-down tax code and building an economy that truly works for everyone.
✅ The Millionaires Tax will save a working parent of two young children tens of thousands of dollars annually, thanks to the preservation and addition of cost-saving programs.
✅ The Millionaires Tax will put hundreds of dollars back into students' pockets with the expansion of the Working Families Tax Credit.
✅ The Millionaires Tax will support small business owners with the most substantial small-business tax breaks in state history by doubling the Business and Occupation (B&O) tax credit and increasing the B&O tax return filing threshold to $250,000.
Thank you to everyone who supported this work, including advocates like you!
why can’t we just cut school budgets, lay off public servants, and slash our safety nets to appease a wealthy few who would pay taxes like the millionaires tax? Well we can, but the results haven’t been great so far.
