Crown King Aid Station, mile 36 of 252. 75 second pit stop after 6+ hours of no crew access⏱️

Me and my crew pride ourselves with a quick aid station turnaround. Metaglasses were sweet !

Shout out to one of the most impressive endurance feats I’ve witnessed. Please congratulate overall winner and overall course record holder at Cocodona 250, the most competitive multi-day race in North America 🥹

We ran the first 50-60 miles together and I knew she was ready to rock. She happily walked some of the ups with me so she could snack on some gummies. She went on to win in a commanding fashion and put on a world class performance. It brought the same emotions for me as seeing complete Barkley.

A few months ago Rachel came to Seattle and hit me up for a run. I offered for her to sleep at my mom’s house in Lake City and we cranked out some fun runs. We were both getting ready to run Cocodona and cooking up what was possible. She delivered.

You freaking crushed it, Rachel.

This crew. This race. This body. This life.

Cocodona 250, 4th place.

Good multi-day racing requires you to pour out your heart and soul. Over the last 61 hours, I did that. My team did that. I didn’t know what would happen racing Cocodona with a newborn at home (8 weeks!). It’s bittersweet because there are hours left out on the table, but ultimately getting to the start line AND finish line are all I hoped for. Let’s GOO! 🌱

It took a village to get here. Can’t wait to go home and snuggle and baby Jack!

2026: ⬛️?
2024: Big fam energy and the paint cave 🎨 4th and no sleep til Brooklyn aka mile 180 cuz I couldn’t really sleep before 🌱
2022: I wonder what running a multiday race is like? Win! Just kept rolling with high vibes 🏆

On Monday, May the fourth be with you, I’ll be racing Cocodona 250 for the 3rd time. Just here to prove there are no kings of multidays 😜 Here’s to the closest thing we have to WSER 🥂

I’ll be missing Katie and Jack at home, but I have a lot of belief in dad strength and a great crew. Wish us luck!

As a boy, I grew up halfway on a 200ft hill. Starting or ending a run sucked. These streets shaped how I grew up, and are arguably more important in my adult life as a trail runner. A great mantra: find hard things in your backyard and do them until they aren’t hard anymore 🌱

But times and foci change as and I are new parents!! Jack is the ultimate cutie in our growing family. The Lake City Way is a short story as I prepare to run a 250 mile race with a 4 week old and contemplate what lies ahead.

If you don’t have 3.5 minutes, save it for later.

Filmed by without any silly brand attachments. Art for the sake of art. Memories, places, and musings that only matter to us. And Stephen even has his own 1yo at home which is its own story!

We hope you enjoy our little 🎥 it’s exclusively on Instagram for the algorithm to bury, so congratulations of you’ve gotten this far.
