We are so lucky to have Dan’s Auto Repair and VanGo Auto Glass right down the hill from the cafe! Originally run by Dan, who is now retired and winters back in Vietnam, these businesses were taken over by Dan’s sons several years back. John (left) runs things at the auto repair place and Van (right) recently started a new shop right across the street doing auto glass. These businesses are local gems - the mechanics are all friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Every time I’ve stopped by to see about an oil change, they’ve been able to get me in right away and my car serviced in about an hour. Van also does mobile auto glass replacement and as an avid gardener, dreams of having a Rainier Beach farmer’s market on his lot on Sundays someday. He’d been filling a biker’s tire with air right before I rolled up to take this pic today and it was rad to hear another business owner who is passionate about seeing our community thrive ❤️
