The ICU can be one of the most complex and overwhelming places for patients, families, and advocates alike. Our upcoming case review will walk attendees through the course of a client’s ICU admission—breaking down the structure and team dynamics, while also addressing the ethical and medical decision-making that often occurs in this critical setting.
Led by Angie Ingraham, MD, MS, FACS, BCPA, this session will highlight how patient advocates can optimize their role in supporting clients, coordinating care, and facilitating communication during an ICU stay.
Date & Time: October 16, 2025 | 4 – 5:30 PM (PT)
Location: Online via Zoom
Cost: FREE for HealthAdvocateX Professional Members to attend, $15 for HealthAdvocateX Professional Members earning CE Credit, $40 for Non-Member

End-of-life care can be especially complex when systemic bias, family conflict, and moral distress among providers intersect. Our August Case Review will explore the journey of a 31-year-old woman with alcohol-induced liver failure, examining the barriers these factors created in providing patient-centered care.
This session will highlight ethical dilemmas, interdisciplinary strain, and practical strategies to foster trust, communication, and timely palliative care in high-conflict family systems.
When: August 21, 2025 | 4pm–5:30 pm (PT)
Where: Online via Zoom
Cost: FREE for HealthAdvocateX Professional Members to attend. $15 for Professional Members earning CE Credit; $40 for Non-Members earning credit.
