I've been catching myself feeling somehow behind everyone else as I see this trend of "in your (age range) you'll have the opportunity to do a thing, it's very important that you do." I have to remind myself that I have, in fact, had some incredible experiences that lead me to where I am now, even if "now" feels like I've hit a wall and have stagnated into oblivion.
I just want to remind people that it's so, so easy to lose track of your own successes and journey on social media, because it inherently sets you up to compare yourself to others and to try and measure Success by the same rubric, and that is just not how life works. It's hard, watching people create and share ideas you wish you'd had, while you are at home, not doing that. Not posting on social media. Not building your business or brand.
But everyone is at their own place in life, and everyone has seasons where their focus has to change and they must look inward. I'm going through an immensely difficult time in my life right now and I have to remind myself to be kind and allow myself to focus on survival. Creativity and growth and productivity will come back when I'm ready, and there's no grand plan for my life that I'm somehow failing by doing the bare minimum because that's all I'm capable of right now.
It's okay to not be at the height of your success. It's okay to be figuring things out, working on yourself, or just focusing on paying bills and staying alive. Sh*t's rough out there. Be kind to yourselves.
