Here’s something we keep missing about discipline. It’s just as important practicing it for yourself as it is you instilling it in your kids.

Are you disciplined in your diet and eating? Are you disciplined in how you respond to adversity and challenges? Are you disciplined in your health and fitness? Are you disciplined in accomplishing the things you set out to accomplish?

I can go on and on. Modeling is an underrated trait in parenting. The only way you can instill discipline in your kids without being disciplined yourself is by force. This might be the reason so many parents struggle with instilling discipline.

I subscribe to conscious parenting because it forces me to look in the mirror on a consistent basis. It starts with me. How can I change? What can I do differently? That’s what I ask when I face parenting challenges. I hope this helps you.
