Moody spring from the garden ✨. The really contrasting tones (bright white and deep, eggplant/plumy purples) never seem to transfer very well to a photograph, but they are so, soooo beautiful in person. The fragrance is pretty incredible too.
Mothers Day is next week, just sayin.’ 👆🏻if you’d like to see what we’re offering!

Looking for the beauty. Making the beauty. Finding new ways to see, make, practice, participate in and with beauty.
There’s been a new leg of my creative practice developing over the last couple of years: I’ve started working with clay. Often with clay and flowers together, sometimes just clay on its own. A new dance with earth, water, fire, air, colors, time, form and the unknown. So different than flowers, yet also connected to so many of the same element things.
Here is a random photo dump of various ceramic pieces and process over the last couple of years! No particular order or story, just some of the moments and things and flower/clay collaborations.

Other worlds are possible.
If you are protesting, thank you. If you are calling your senators, thank you. If you are part of a neighborhood watch group, are bringing food to targeted families, are organizing, are donating funds, thank you. If you are boycotting, thank you. If you are breaking generational patterns of dysfunction, thank you. If you are letting your heart be open, thank you. If you are letting your mind be changed, thank you. If you are caring for children and elders, thank you. If you are having a day where the grief is completely overwhelming you and you just need to take a beat to feel and process and be with the truth of our current reality- thank you for keeping your heart open enough that you can still feel the heartbreak- you are staying human. If you are calling your friends to tell them you love them- thank you. If you are walking through the woods letting the trees whisper visions of what is possible- thank you. If you are a space holder, thank you. If you are learning how to process and metabolize your fear, anxiety, grief, and move into action, thank you. If you are creating something beautiful, even in the face of the monstrosities happening all around us- thank you. If you are tending the earth, growing food for your community, sharing your resources, thank you. You are so needed here. You are so wanted here.
Whatever ways, small and large, you are resisting and shaping a better, more beautiful future, thank you. All of this is needed, all of this is contributing. Keep going, You are needed here. I am saying this as much to myself as anyone else. Already noticing how my community is strengthening through this time- allowing ourselves to deepen with each other- and THAT is a beautiful thing. This is where we are and we need each other. And we can create something so much more beautiful.
Loving you all in your imperfections and your doing whatever you can, in whatever ways you can, to end to the brutality, hatred, dehumanization, and utmost disrespect for life and what is sacred that we are witnessing with ICE, in Gaza, and with empire everywhere. Loving you as you navigate collapse. Right beside you, right here.

Gorgeous Micaelah at with a bouquet of flowers grown right here in Seattle, in the Botanique Cutting Garden ✨
You don’t have to reach for something far away to find something special. We try to honor time and place and a specific moment in time in all of our designs, and working with local flowers is one of the primary ways we do this.
