We’re excited to announce there is new work on display at 108 Art & Design — the mixed media pieces of Cynthia Sumner . The space is open during business hours — we’d love for you to stop by and have a look.

Cynthia paints abstracted elements of nature, building layered surfaces with joint compound, acrylic, paper, ink, cold wax, and oil, then scraping them back to reveal what emerges. Working intuitively and often using palette knives, squeegees, and her hands, her tactile process reflects her background in sculpture and design and her long-standing, multidisciplinary art practice.

Enjoyed a great start to the inaugural Arnie Langberg Memorial Film Series with a screening of the noir classic The Night of the Hunter at 108 A&D. We were so grateful to fill the space with our community of artists, professionals, clients, and collaborators we’re lucky to call friends.

This installation at our 108 A&D storefront is created by Janine Björnson, a West Sonoma County-based artist and natural builder known for her handmade natural paints and plasters. Her installation at our 108 A&D storefront features playful mobiles made from recycled book pages and found objects, showcasing the beauty of reimagined materials.
