“I think that love is a requirement of principled struggle, both self-love and love of others, that we must all do what we can, that it is better to do something rather than nothing, that we have to trust others as well as ourselves. I often repeat the adage that ‘hope is a discipline.’ We must practice it daily.”

Announcing a special event for the launch of “Compassion in Crisis: Building Disaster-Resilient Communities!” Lauren Hage (our Executive Director) contributed earth intimacy practices to the book and will be facilitating a bird sit and book talk, alongside co-authors Kate and Kailea, on Monday, May 18 at Green Valley Farm. Come gather with us on the land—for a conversation on community resilience, followed by a group bird sit at dusk. Check out all the special events for book tour and spread the word!
About “Compassion in Crisis: Building Disaster-Resilient Communities:” Published by Loam, the publishing branch of Weaving Earth, and informed by 8 years of research, this grassroots guide explores community-shaped strategies for navigating polycrisis—offering prompts, checklists, and heartfelt guidance to help build durable mutual aid networks.
