Desert to***co, Nicotiana obtusifolia, is sometimes called coyote to***co is a southwest native. I leave this one alone as it is sensitive to over harvesting and I never see very many of them in an area. You see them grow after a rain and not again for a couple years. As a ceremonial plant in the sacred pipe, we honor this plant with prayers. When the plant cures, the aromatics become a camphor and then can be smoked.

As a medicine, it inhibits pain perception and makes a great analgesic poultice, for hemorrhoid flare ups, and sports type injuries, arthritis and any sore muscles. Not for internal use without curing.
