wow… today marks 10 years of me being on my cosmetology journey

i am so proud of little me for pushing through so many barriers and boundaries that the adults in her life tried to place in her way

i was constantly told that this would be a great “backup” option for my “real job” i needed to go get

today my heart is FULL as i reflect in absolute humility and gratitude on how beautiful this journey has been and how much it has taught me

your words hold SO much power and i am endlessly grateful to the beautiful people who have supported me along the way

thankful to have a job making beautiful people feel loved - an integral part of my day each day

thank you for supporting me along this journey - SCROLL for 10 years of memories

i did my first wedding at age 14 and was absolutely honored to be part of such special moments

i sat in my car and cried tears of joy on the way home - i wondered if there could ever be space for me in such a special work field

cosmetology school was extremely challenging and on top of that being in high school made it more difficult

cosmetology school was hourly based so we attended school during senior ditch day, school breaks, and weekends for 2 years straight

it was such a beautiful experience to commit to something beyond my maturity level at that time

i made lifelong friends (who ended up working my wedding for hair and makeup) - Haili did my bridal hair and makeup 5 years later

and Charlotte did my bridesmaids hair for my wedding - so thankful for the lifelong friends this experience gave me

i went to high school, cosmetology school, and worked on the side doing prom and event hair every weekend

prom will always hold a special place in my heart

we graduated cosmetology school and i got my license after passing my state boards shortly thereafter 🥹

In college I continued to expand my love of cosmetology and took 3 high level theater makeup and SFX makeup courses - i worked fall doing SFX Halloween makeup and spent my time loving assisting with theater makeup

I didn’t love bridal makeup yet - i hated the idea of “covering” someone’s insecurities and altering the way they looked- i wanted people to find their inn
