Everyone has that one idea they are told to make smaller.

Safer. More normal. Less you.

Ours was a glowing pink Bigfoot. And when we rebuilt this whole company, that was the one thing we refused to give up.

We handed it to Tina and Tony at Skagit Sign Co, Skagit Sign Co. , a little nervous they would talk us out of it.

They did the opposite. They looked at our loud, glowing, bold idea and made it better than we ever pictured.

That is what happens when local people believe in local dreams. They do not shrink you. They build you.

If you have an idea everyone keeps telling you is too much, this one is for you.

Keep it. Make it glow.

And find the people in your own town who will help you build it.

I will be honest. When I saw the activity list I almost talked myself out of it.

DIY projects. I am not exactly known for that.

But I showed up anyway.

And the second I walked in and saw that many people there just giving their time to the Boys and Girls Club of Skagit County, something shifted.

I picked up a paint brush.

Best decision I made that day.

There is something about being in a room full of people who just want to help that completely changes your mood.
