Driven Engineering, Inc. provided comprehensive civil engineering services for this project, including design of the rail yard, concrete tank car storage area, integrated rail scale track, and associated stormwater detention facilities. Our team secured all required approvals from the City of Bay Minette and managed the construction stormwater permit for the full site throughout development.
The project required CSX review and approval, including coordination of a design variance that was successfully approved. Navigating Class I railroad standards and variance processes requires detailed technical justification and close coordination — and we’re proud to have supported the project through that process.
Industrial rail yard developments of this scale demand integration of track geometry, heavy-duty pavement design, drainage infrastructure, operational components, and regulatory coordination. We’re proud to deliver infrastructure solutions that support long-term industrial growth and efficient freight operations.

This month marks 20 years since Driven Engineering, Inc. was founded.

The firm began with three partners — friends who came alongside to pursue a vision of building a civil engineering practice grounded in integrity, technical excellence, and meaningful relationships. Within the first few years, that vision became the responsibility of new leadership to carry forward, shaping every chapter since.

Over two decades, we have grown from that small founding team into a firm trusted with critical rail infrastructure, public works, industrial development, and community projects across the region. The journey has included seasons of growth, seasons that required perseverance, and moments that demanded disciplined leadership.

Throughout the journey, our foundation has been grounded in faith, integrity, and gratitude — principles that have guided the firm through both growth and challenge.

We have grown intentionally — protecting our standards, practicing financial stewardship, and focusing on long-term sustainability. As we reach this 20-year milestone, Driven Engineering remains debt-free, reflecting that discipline and commitment to stability.

Most importantly, we are supported today by the strongest, most capable, and most talented team in the firm’s history. Their expertise and professionalism position us well for what lies ahead.

Twenty years in business is not accidental. It reflects resilience, accountability, and a commitment to excellence that does not shift with circumstances.
