Safety Tips for Celebrating Independence Day

As you gather with family and friends to celebrate, here are few simple steps can help prevent serious injuries and fires.

Fireworks Safety 🎇
- Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks, including sparklers
- Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly
- Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that did not fully ignite
- Always have a bucket of water or garden hose nearby
- Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Grilling Safety 🔥
- Keep children and pets at least 3 feet away from your grill or campfire
- Always stay with your grill once it is lit
- Clean your grill after each use to prevent grease fires
- Once cooled, place used coals in a metal container with a lid
