9 years sober today by the grace of God.

Last year I said I was humbled — this year, I’m grounded in it.

At 29, I hit a place I never want to go back to. What felt like the end of everything turned out to be the beginning of a life I didn’t even know I was capable of building.

9 years later… it’s not about “getting sober” anymore — it’s about protecting the life I’ve created.

That voice rarely shows up anymore. Maybe it always will. But now I recognize it for what it is — the disease— and I’ve built a life far too meaningful to throw away for a temporary escape.

Sobriety gave me more than just a clear mind — it gave me self-respect, awareness, and the ability to actually show up for my life. For my relationships. For my growth. For myself.

I’m still imperfect. I still have hard days. But I handle life now instead of running from it — and that’s something I’ll never take for granted.

If you’re struggling — please know this: the life you want isn’t as far away as it feels. It starts with one decision, and then another, and then another.

And one day, you look back and realize you made it out.

To the people who have stood by me, loved me, challenged me, and supported me — thank you. You’ve been part of every step of this.
