🌉🔧 Fun Engineering Event for Kids at Jordan Library!
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Minnesota Department of Transportation) is bringing back their awesome Bridge-in-a-Bag program!
Kids ages 8–11 will get to work in teams to design and build a 6-foot truss bridge, take on real engineering roles, test the structure, crawl through it, and even tear it down. A fun, hands-on way to learn how real bridges are designed and built!

An estimated 7.2 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia. Memory changes are a normal part of aging, but Alzheimer's disease is not. If you notice these changes in yourself or a loved one, it is best to see a doctor as soon as possible for early detection. An early diagnosis can help get a person treatment faster and slow down the progression of the disease.
10 Warning Signs:
• Memory loss that disrupts daily life.
• Challenges in planning or solving problems.
• Difficulty completing familiar tasks at home, at work, or at leisure.
• Confusion with time or place.
• Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relations.
• New problems with words in speaking or writing.
• Misplacing things and not being able to retrace steps.
• Decreased or poor judgment.
• Withdrawal from work or social activities.
• Changes in mood or personality
Steps to keep your brain healthy:
• Stay active
• Protect your head
• Maintain your health
• Keep learning (challenge your brain with reading, puzzles, or new hobbies)
• Stay socially connected
• Be smoke free
• Prioritize sleep (aim for 7–9 hours each night)
• Manage stress
