First Light Spotlight ~ Tucked along the cold, windblown shores of Netherlands’ North Sea, Ed Asselé has spent decades building a life around the ocean - one shaped by curiosity, travel, and a deep love for the water.

From volunteering as a lifeguard on the Dutch coast to chasing waves across the globe, the ocean and surfing have been a central part of Ed’s life. Now based near Rotterdam, he pairs his surf sessions with photography, documenting the raw beauty of Dutch waves and the community behind them.
