Bernie and Veronica need our help, organized by Melissa Davis 12/29/2022

Things have been pretty quiet out at the ranch spirit, pico, grace and crikey are all doing wonderful!

We have a different furry friend than the normal horse that needs help. His name is Bernie and he could absolutely use everyones help after an accident on Christmas Eve that left Bernie the bulldog unable to use his back legs, bruised lungs and a rare folding fracture in his left shoulder. His mom Veronica is doing all she can but any prayers, positive thoughts or financial help is so appreciated.

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas and the year to come is a great one!

Bernie story and update in link below! Please share, pray and send positive thoughts!

Video below is about 2 hours after fentanyl patch was placed. Huge improvement but still a loooong way to go.

If you would like to donate to helping bernie recover and ease some of the financial stress please see below!

Second Chance 11/14/2022

ā€œThis children’s book, written for ages 4 years and above, will resonate with young readers and adults alike. It tells a simple story of homecoming and friendship, imagined and told by a horse named Chance. Chance was rescued along with other members of his herd and came to live with a Rescue Mom and Dad at their ranch in California. Readers may recognize some themes in Second Chance that are present not only in the animal world, but in our own: different models of parenting and home, the challenge of bullying or exclusion, and the care and compassion that we can give and receive. The book introduces young audiences to the story of a special horse and to an important face of animal welfare work—foster care and re-homing. In doing so, we hope to bring to life the mission of Horse Tales Rescue, the real-world organization represented in this story.ā€
