Textbook costs have risen about 3x the rate of inflation. Two-thirds of students try to get by without a textbook. And 1 out of 5 students drop the course or change majors. Another 1 out of 5 fail the course. So…..
I have been working hard to help make an engineering education more affordable💰. This project took two quarters sabbatical plus the last 12 months to complete the roll out - while teaching a full load and chairing the department. I’m tired, but it’s worth it. 😘🙌 Spread the word! You can study Engineering at Shoreline Community College for less $$. 🫶🏻

At the engineering design conference this weekend at Central Washington University, we were able to snag 2nd place in the RC baja race, 2nd place in the Sumo Bot competition, and win the technical design presentation. Thank you everyone for all of the hard work. This is only part of the team there were several others who were a big help! More pictures to come soon!

Also, thanks to Erika Lee, Philip LaMothe, Emily Kosciuk, and Jeremy Kim, for the hard work last year. We wouldn't have made it this far without everything we learned alongside you.

Concerning the Engineering Design Competition,

Anyone is able to attend so feel free to bring guests.

The goal is to get there around 8:45 on Saturday morning. I think it takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to get there so plan accordingly.

As for directions, the people we have been talking to have given us the following notes, the easiest path is to take I-90 to Exit 106, University Way.
Go straight through the stop sign and follow the dotted line on the road to the second traffic light, at Main Street.
Turn left on Main street, go approx. ½ mile to the ‘ T ‘ intersection where Main street ends at 14th st/Nicholson bvld.
Turn right and follow 14th st/Nicholson bvld through 2 stop signs.
Hogue tech is on the right side of the street, across from tennis courts.
Parking is OK by tennis courts or around the far side of the building.
Parking is not enforced after 4:30 on Friday except for short term places (15 min etc) or handicapped places.
