Western Slope Ice Fishing Rentals LLC

Drove by the lakes today. There's ice but not much. Saw 1 guy fishing Rifle about 10' off shore. Brave individual out there alone on thin ice. I walked down to Harvey and its about 1.5" where I checked. Both lakes have open water yet. The ice that is there isn't real good ice either. The snow is melting and spots have water on top of the ice. Pretty muddy I might add. Let's hope we can get some cold weather soon. February marks our warm up usually. If we don't get ice soon we may not get any. The first 2 pictures are Rifle. The last 2 are Harvey.

With no real ice to speak of and it raining at both lakes, high's in the 50's and lows in the 20's, this Derby is postponed until we can get some good ice. We need some very cold weather for about a week to make some good solid ice. The next 10 days are forecast to be unseasonable warm. That's almost mid January. Think cold!!
