The past weekend was Memorial Day weekend here in the US. It’s like the official day for starting the summer celebration. Summer is coveted in the northern hemisphere. And most community outdoor swimming pools start opening this past weekend. So friends and families gather for a cookout and have some cocktails. We made grilled barbecue chicken, sweet corn with side pasta tuna salad, veggie fried rice and shish kebabs with Ethiopian flag peppers. (We celebrate it as an honor to all the heroes in the world) And of course siga tibs, with the kitfo trios (kitfo, gomen & ayibe) and key and alicha wot were center stage, what’s a party without them right? As my mom told me ወፍ እንደ ሀገሩ ይጮሀል። So where ever you are try to blend in and live harmoniously without losing your true identity. Hence the shish kebab with Ethiopian flag color pepper and all the yummy Ethiopian food topped with our beautiful coffee ceremony. Any given day is a good day to remember our አርበኞች። Salut!

I was testing the waters of being an influencer and quickly learned that even though I love makeup and hair I am not by all means a beauty guru or a hair guru. I am another kind of guru and I needed to figure that out. And it helped me figure things out and see the many paths I could partake. And I am thankful for that.
