Today, on International Women’s Day, we honor the power, resilience, and leadership of South Asian women from minority communities across our diasporas and homelands.
From migrant workers and caregivers, to artists, activists, students, and community organizers, South Asian minority women continue to challenge discrimination, casteism, racism, colorism, patriarchy, and economic injustice—often all at once.
We celebrate those who hold families and communities together, who speak up when it is unsafe, and who create spaces where our languages, faiths, genders, and identities not only survive, but thrive.
As a collective, we commit to:
• Amplifying the voices of Dalit, Adivasi, Indigenous, religious minority, linguistic minority, and q***r and trans South Asian women.
• Standing against gender-based violence, hate, and systemic exclusion in every form.
• Building structures of care—mental health support, economic opportunities, and safe spaces—so that no one is left behind.
International Women’s Day is not just a celebration, it is a call to action.
When South Asian minority women rise, our entire communities move forward.
