Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies

As we recognize Montessori Education Week, we are honored to carry on the important work of guiding adult learners through their journey towards becoming Montessori educators.

On Sunday, we lost a member of our Institute family. Debbie Kukielka was an Institute instructor, level coordinator, consultant, supervising teacher, mentor, workshop presenter and support person. But more importantly, Debbie was our dear friend.
Debbie started working with the Institute in 1999. Debbie shared her passion for Montessori education with hundreds of adult learners around the globe, presenting lessons to ensure understanding and helping all to find the joy in what they were doing. Debbie loved supporting adult learners, connecting with all.
As we learned of Debbie's passing earlier this week, many instructors shared their own memories.
"Debbie went beyond her duties at the Institute. She was a friend and always ready to help anyone."
"She was a friend and mentor; she did so much for everyone she met. I will be thinking about her girls and the grandkids, her pride and joy."
"Debbie was the glue that kept us straight. She will surely be missed. "
"Ms. Debbie was an amazing person and a truly dedicated Montessorian."
