True artists strive to make the world a better place. is officially a new hero for the next generation of artists in music. Her demand at the 67th Grammy Awards, that record labels offer livable wages and health coverage to new artists, would be a revolution in the music industry globally if implemented.
The standing ovation that followed her demand speaks for itself and reflects how popular it is. One can only hope that the tone-deaf executives at the labels are capable of embracing new ways of doing things. For generations, major labels have operated in only one way: exploitation of artists to make the leaders as rich as possible. What Chappell Roan is proposing would make good business sense for both artists and labels, but it will take visionary leadership to see that. Are there any visionaries left at the labels?
