Choice 1 Cleaners
When it comes to cost-effective dry clean and laundry services, Choice 1 Cleaners in Simi Valley, is the company to call.
I had an interesting and eye-opening conversation recently with a customer here in Newbury Park.
He shared how their church runs a local food pantry—and how, over time, it’s become harder to keep it stocked.
What many people don’t realize is that food pantries often rely on surplus donations from grocery stores. But when people tighten their spending, stores order less inventory. When inventory goes down, surplus disappears. And when surplus disappears, food banks feel it first.
This isn’t something new or sudden—it’s been building for quite a while. Rising prices, inflation, and general uncertainty have made people understandably cautious about spending. That caution ripples through every part of the system.
Because of that, we’ve decided to take a small but steady step.
Starting now, Choice 1 Cleaners will serve as a year-round drop-off point for non-perishable food donations, supporting a local Newbury Park church food pantry.
There’s no big campaign or deadline—just an ongoing effort to help where we can.
If you’d like to participate, items such as canned foods, pasta, rice, beans, peanut butter, and other shelf-stable goods can be dropped off at any of our locations.
This community has always shown up for one another, and we’re proud to be part of that.
Thank you
Good morning, Simi Valley!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a smooth start to the week.
New week, fresh start, and a little December sunshine never hurts.
Wishing everyone a great Monday filled with something small to smile about.
Stay tuned — later today we’re doing another fun little challenge and giveaway.
Let’s keep the good energy going in our community.
Why We Support James Storehouse + Holiday Toy Drive
At Choice 1 Cleaners we believe in community. That’s why we’ve partnered with James Storehouse — a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that cares for foster children, youth aging out of care, babies, teens, and families in crisis. From newborns needing diapers to older foster youth needing support to stand on their own — James Storehouse helps them all.
They run a Resource Center where kids and youth “shop” for free essentials: clothing, shoes, bedding, school supplies — everything to help them start over safely and with dignity.
They also run transitional-housing, mentoring, food pantry, baby-showers, support for teen moms, and programs to help youth build life skills and hope for a better future.
Because James Storehouse cannot do this alone — they rely on people like us, our community, and neighbors. That’s where we come in.
