I often find myself saying, “Oh Tuesday, what are we gonna do?” I say it in the morning, in the car pulling into the garage, at night before bed… What are we gonna do now? Now what? How will we live now that the worst thing imaginable has happened? But I guess that’s just it. We’re gonna live. We’re gonna figure it out somehow. Today marks four months since Tuesey has seen her daddy alive. Your girls are gonna live Scotty, but we miss you every day.

What if we talked to ourselves like we talked to our dogs? 💖💜💝
💠 First thing in the morning: Oh I love you so much! [insert kisses] Yes, I love you!
💠 Going to the bathroom: Oh, you’re a good girl, such a good girl to get all your “numbers” out!
💠 Eating a healthy breakfast: Yes, we’re worth the organic veggies and fruits, aren’t we? Only the best!
🍩 Chocolate donut in sight: Leave it! No! Leave it! Chocolate is bad for you, you can’t have it! 🤣🤣🤣

Why do I love ripples so much? Perhaps it’s their perfection, formed by nature over time… destroyed in an instant by one footstep. It’s a poignant reminder of the impermanence of all of our b.s. But then, you’ll find some ripples preserved forever in sandstone, and you realize that some things do last. The love can last. Hold tight to it. 💝

People love a comeback story… they love when you turn your tragedy into something inspiring. Here’s the thing though - life isn’t like the movies. I may or may not “come back stronger”. I might just be sad… and tired… and grieving… for a very long time. And that’s ok I guess. And you know what else is ok? Being sad and tired and grieving and still taking beautiful pictures of my amazing dog.
