Ready for some must-knows if you are migrating from TrueCommerce to Boomi?
See how EDI Support LLC helped a luxury home brand successfully migrate from TrueCommerce to Boomi-
Though there are several EDI products in the market, the customer chose Boomi considering its benefits of connector-based licensing model, effortless integration with SaaS backend applications and frequent updates to the platform providing latest features.
1) Analysis on trading partners to be migrated
Boomi pricing is based on features and number of connectors/trading partner connections. It is important to know the number of trading partners to be migrated from TC so that appropriate Boomi connector licenses can be purchased. The TC foundry platform “Trading Partners” portal provides details of the trading partners configured in TC.
2) Boomi Licensing and runtime setup
Upon identifying the number of trading partners already running in TrueCommerce and the integrated applications, EDI Support LLC worked closely with Boomi to gain access to AtomSphere platform and configured runtimes.
3) Configure Trading Partners in Boomi
The TC Foundry platform “Trading Partners” portal provides details of the Test/Prod EDI identifiers along with its qualifiers. Using TC as reference, the Boomi trading partner component was configured for EDI Envelopes, delimiters, and FA requirements.
4) Connection to ERP
The EDI documents were translated into ERP specific formats to be exported/imported. The Boomi EDI integration processes has NetSuite connector which can effortlessly connect with NetSuite to get/send data.
5) Inbound and Outbound Processing
Inbound processing involves setting up AS2 listeners or SFTP polling to retrieve inbound documents to be sent to ERP. For Outbound, Boomi invoked saved search to retrieve the documents that are ready and will update a flag once the document is sent out.
6) End-To-End Testing
Once the maps were unit tested, end-to-end testing was carried out using live samples downloaded from TC. The generated Boomi EDI Outputs were compared against the TC live samples and ensured they match.
7) Go-Live
Our Go-live strategy was to migrate one partner at a time starting from low volume to high volume partners.
Our migration approach was in phases which ensures complete visibility of the document flow, less turnaround time to fix issues, gain more control over the system and migrate other trading partners more confidently.
It is important to follow the migration best practices and provide post live monitoring to ensure there are no document failures or errors.
What is your migration approach? Let us know in comments below.

If you are new to EDI, you are probably overwhelmed with all the information thrown at you by EDI software providers.
Most of the time we spend with companies who come to us for help is in discussing different EDI pricing structures because it can get complex.
Let's talk about the factors EDI pricing depends on-
1) Transaction Volume: Many EDI providers charge based on the volume of transactions processed through the system. This can be a per-transaction fee or a tiered pricing structure based on monthly or annual transaction volumes.
2) EDI Software and Services: The cost of EDI software licenses, implementation, and ongoing support services can contribute to the overall pricing. Different providers offer varying levels of software functionality and service quality, which can affect pricing.
3) Customization and Integration: Customization of the EDI solution to fit the specific needs of the business, as well as integration with existing systems and applications, may incur additional costs depending on the complexity of the requirements.
4) EDI Standards and Document Types: The number and complexity of EDI standards and document types supported by the provider can influence pricing. Some providers may charge extra for support of specific standards or for handling non-standard document formats.
5) Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Higher service levels, such as guaranteed uptime, faster response times for support requests, and dedicated account management, may come with higher pricing tiers or additional fees.
6) Implementation and Setup Fees: Initial setup, configuration, and implementation of the EDI solution often incur one-time fees. These fees can vary depending on the complexity of the implementation and the level of support provided by the vendor.
7) Training and Support: Costs associated with training end-users, IT staff, and business stakeholders on how to use and maintain the EDI system may be included in the pricing or charged separately.
8) Additional Features and Add-Ons: Some providers offer optional features or add-ons, such as advanced reporting and analytics, trading partner management tools, or data mapping services, which may incur additional costs.
9) Contract Terms and Negotiation: The terms of the contract, including contract duration, payment terms, and negotiated discounts, can impact the overall pricing of the EDI solution.
