Raven Frog Fibers

Thank you so much to everyone who voted for The Sawmill Farm project in the Sealaska Path 2 Prosperity contest. We came in 2nd to Coppa in Juneau. A few thoughts:
Coppa (besides having a population base 4 times as large as Sitka) ran radio ads promising to throw an ice cream social for the whole city if he won. Several people mentioned to me that they thought this wasn't fair. IT WAS PERFECTLY FAIR!!! If I had had an ice cream parlor in Juneau I would have done the same thing. He has a great idea and that rhubarb sherbet recipe he has come up with is phenomenal (I've tasted it). So, please, let's not have any animosity towards Coppa. In fact, go eat his ice cream when you are in Juneau (I do!).
The Sawmill Farm started way before there ever was a P2P contest. The funding would have been great but it was not going to make us or break us either way. We are still here working the plan. And we have big plans!
Because of the P2P contest, a whole lot more people all over the country are aware of us now than ever before. That is a very good thing and I am amazed at some of the big names in sustainable farming who have contacted us wanting to help.
Thank you again and we will be posting some very fun activities and opportunities in the near future.
