Heads up SE AK, we are currently tracking a series of snow showers currently near the Sitka area moving into the Icy Strait corridor, including Hoonah, Gustavus, Pelican, Juneau. Sitka is expected to be hit the hardest by these snow showers, and therefore the winter weather advisory moved up to begin now with snow accumulations of 6-11 inches throughout the event. These snow showers are NOT the main front moving in and are expected to be mostly short lived. The main snow event is still expected to move in late tonight.
