“I’ve known Neely since pre-k, but we reconnected in high school and quickly picked right back up. After a year apart, her at Louisiana Tech and me at Hinds, we both ended up transferring to MC and becoming roommates, which felt like an answered prayer. Since then, we’ve been inseparable. Neely is one of the most genuine, loyal, and uplifting people I know. She’s incredibly thoughtful, always putting others before herself, and has a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for. Whether you need someone to laugh with or someone to sit and listen, she shows up every time with encouragement and kindness. The past two semesters with her have truly have been so special to me, and I’m so grateful for the friendship we’ve built.” - Melanie Hodge

“Melanie and I have known each other since we were kids, but it took up until our senior year of high school for us to truly grow close. When we both decided to transfer to MC, it was a no-brainer that we would be roommates! Melanie is a blessing I never knew I needed but am so lucky to have! I see the Lord in her so clearly through the way she loves others so genuinely. She never fails to make those around her feel seen, valued, and cared for through her constant kindness and encouragement. She brings a light into every aspect of my life and her faith shines so bright in everything she does. Being roommates with her is such a gift - I’ll forever cherish all of the late night laughs, sweet treat runs, and everyday moments we share together! Being in Laguna together has made our friendship all the more special, and I’m so beyond grateful to do life alongside my best friend! “Mine and Rachel’s story of friendship is a true picture of God’s timing and plans. For two years, we knew each other, worked together, and were friendly towards one another. Then during my Junior year of college, I gained one of my absolute best friends in the world. Rachel brings out the best and most fun parts of me. She lives life with such pure love and energy that I aspire to have. She gives 100% and leads with true integrity. Most importantly, she is a light for Christ to anyone she passes. I’m so thankful to have such a bright, bubbly, and pink best friend! Our friendship has shown me that you can find true community anywhere, especially within two different tribes. “Caroline and I technically met freshman year through mutual friends, worked together sophomore year to help lead Dance Marathon, and spent two summers together as orientation leaders. But, it wasn’t until junior year in nursing school that we became really close friends. Caroline and I have gone through some crazy life stuff together and seeing her grow and mature into the leader and woman of Christ she is today is truly so beautiful. While we may be in separate tribes and wear our different colors loud and proud, she is my best friend and I truly consider her my sister. She is the most diligent and hard working person I know and the ladies of Laguna have been so lucky to have had her lead them this year!🩵🩷” - Rachel Regan
