Donate to Protect the Blackman House: Essential Fire & Security System, organized by Taylor Russell 02/01/2026

Hi friends - this is the Snohomish Historical Society's first public fundraising appeal in many years. For over a decade, basic maintenance, operations, and fundraising at Snohomish's only museum were left undone, and now we are hard at work trying to reopen and reshare the irreplaceable history that the Society stewards. This year will bring many major projects for the Society, but our first priority is keeping the 1878 museum secure and safe from disaster. Without its history, there is no Snohomish. Thank you for helping us protect it.

Everyone's favorite parade day in Snohomish! ❀️🚸

In January 1953, the first homecoming celebration was held during half-time of a basketball game. πŸ€

It was a modest ceremony that was switched to football season the next year, and in 1959, the pep rally became a parade marched through the streets of town. 🏈

This is the beginning of the annual Serpentine tradition, which continues today, and is one of only a few occasions in the state where students leave class to celebrate school spirit with their community. I think that is darned special. πŸ€©πŸ™βœ¨
