These are pics of an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen that has been separated from the glass lens of a Galaxy S6/SM-G920T. The white residue seen is the left over LOCA (Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive) that bonded the LCD to the glass from the factory; I used extremely thin 10k gold wire to slice through the adhesive while placed glass down on a hot plate set at 215° F. The glass needed to be replaced but the LCD still works 100%. On average the hardware cost between the the glass or the glass w/LCD is around 90%. Separating the LCD/glass is extremely risky. I still break the LCD on about 10% of the devices I service for this particular repair and it takes a total of about 3 ish hours to safely complete from start to finish. It only takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish if I'm replacing the LCD and glass lens.

The thin black piece on the left is similar to the LCD on every smart phone. That's it. That one wimpy looking piece of plastic is a state of the art high resolution display module capable of images sharper than the human eye can detect. Today, one single smart phone has 1000x more processing power than the space shuttle that took Neil Armstrong to the Moon.
