: Virginia recently set one of the clearest multi-day energy storage mandates in the world – 1 GW of 24+ hour multi-day storage by 2035! And, another 1 GW within ten years of that. 🇺🇸

As one of the largest data center hubs globally, Virginia’s electricity demand is surging. To keep the state’s grid reliable and affordable, Virginia passed two pieces of energy storage legislation earlier this summer, setting pioneering targets for:

⚡ 4.5 GW of long-duration energy storage by 2045
⚡ At least half of that capacity met by 24+ hour multi-day storage
⚡ 1 GW of that 24+ hour multi-day storage by 2035, and another 1 GW by 2045

We’re excited to see Virginia join states like California, Massachusetts, and others across the country taking strong policy action to unlock the full potential of long-duration and multi-day storage in meeting America’s growing energy needs. 🚀
