We are honored to welcome Dr. Supin Wongbusarakum as the new Managing Director of One People One Reef!

A conservation social scientist with more than three decades of experience, Supin has dedicated her career to strengthening relationships between people, place, and the stewardship of lands and waters. Her work has spanned fisheries, coastal and marine conservation, climate adaptation, community resilience, and governance across Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the Americas.

Most recently, Supin served with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), where she led multidisciplinary teams supporting community fisheries and fisheries management in Cambodia. Throughout her career, she has championed approaches that honor Indigenous knowledge, local leadership, cultural vitality, and ecological integrity.

As OPOR continues to advance community-centered marine stewardship and collaborative conservation across the Pacific, we are excited to welcome Supin’s vision, experience, and leadership to our growing team.

💬 “OPOR has been a model for bringing Western science and Indigenous and local communities together to collaborate in ways that create significant and lasting benefits. This collaborative effort can and should be a model for others across the Pacific and throughout the rest of the world. I am very happy to be a part of the team.”

— Dr. Supin Wongbusarakum

Please join us in welcoming Supin to the One People One Reef family. We look forward to the journey ahead.
