Congratulations to our October Club of the Month: Birmingham RC Association - AMA Club #100

Established in 1957, the club currently has over 100 members, both young & old. "Morris Field" has both grass and paved runways to accept a variety of aircraft flying there. The field offers electricity, water, a large covered pit area, and much more. The club obtained an AMA Grant last year to upgrade an old mower to a new Z-turn riding mower that cut nearly 2 hours on their mowing time. They are currently installing a new storage shed and will be resurfacing the runway next year.

The club offers beginner flight training to several local community groups and also shares its field with the University of Alabama in Birmingham for "American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics" engineering students. Coming up at the end of October is their annual "Bigfoot" Fun-Fly. Last year there were more than 50 pilots and 500 guests.
