"𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘴 : 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯"

This year's theme is a call to duty for all, reminding us that 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻. Rather, they are 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 whose development relies on meaningful communication. However, the world, communities, and schools aren't creating an enabling environment for children to hear, in order to make meaning out of what life wants to teach them.

Now come to think of that child/children:
1. Whose mother tongue is sign language

2. Whose feedback can be misunderstood because they speak differently

3. Whose emotions are signed

4. Whose privacy services needs a sign language interpreter

𝗜𝗗𝗣𝗗'𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀

Today serves as a reminder to society that disability doesn't discriminate, and it's often society that fails to see the abilities of individuals with special needs. We're all reminded that "𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 in the 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴," emphasizing the importance of building a positive consciousness around disability. This awareness is crucial for achieving social progression.

As a society, we must recognize the need to create an inclusive environment that supports individuals with disabilities. This includes:

- Families
- Schools
- Workplaces
- Churches
- Communities

Let's build a society that sees beyond disabilities and empowers individuals to thrive

𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗘𝗬𝗘𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗔𝗧 𝗚𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘

It was an eye saw at the just ended maiden "𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀" program 2025. Talk of the energy⚡, numbers, Speakers, Speeches and most importantly Disability Lens presence , and the lasting impact.

Two special guests who joined us for this occasion were: Augustina Kpordzro and Carruthers Tetteh Esq. Respectively, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮'𝘀 story inspired the students stressing on her resilience, determination and perseverance over the past decade. And Mr. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝘀𝗾. who is the first VIP Lawyer and Law Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast and an Amy Awardee added his voice, and importantly his story from disability to celebrated success.

As part of Disability Lens participation in this maiden program, presented:

1. A painting (artwork) that simplified our Clarion call for digital inclusion for Persons with Disabilities across the country in our schools, workplaces, homes and communities.

2. A white cane to a confident VIP who didn't own a person whitecane as a basic tool for his inclusion.

3. Nine 9⃣ Disability Lens branded draw string bags to the 9 VIPs who received the laptops.

Our Founder made a powerful presentation on : 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮.
