Frosted bottles filled with finely ground powders of foraged and homegrown botanicals, collected throughout Norway, Virginia, and Massachusetts.

Pictured is the Hint of Green version, which is a facial cleanser suited for sensitive & troubled skin. Use it as a face mask also, to truly take advantage of the powerful plants I included in this blend.

The ingredients are as follows (in order of amount):

▫️ Homegrown tulsi (aka. holy basil): the most sacred plant in Hinduism and for good reason. It has powerful healing abilities.

▫️ Apples from Norway: from the same tree I used to steal from as a kid. I asked this time, I promise. A they contain Alpha Hydroxy Acid which works as a mild exfoliant.

▫️ Leaves from homegrown Marigold: soothes skin and smells amazing.

▫️ Neem: a highly praised plant in the Ayurvedic & Unani health systems, for it’s anti-inflammatory and anti-septic properties.

▫️ Rhassoul clay from Morocco: a gentle and mineral rich clay commonly used in Hammams.

▫️ Wood nettle from Northern Virginia: discovered and foraged during an early pandemic stroll in Stream Valley Park. It’s packed with minerals and vitamins.

▫️ Amla (aka. Indian Gooseberry): proven to support collagen metabolism due to its antioxidant properties (NCBI).

▫️ Comfrey leaves: proven to regenerate cell formation (NCBI), and commonly used as a poultice for it’s strong anti-inflammatory properties.

▫️ Oat: well-known and used for centuries as a topical treatment for various skin conditions including eczema, rosacea, and acne.

▫️ Spent grain collected from homebrewers in Richmond, VA: a few studies show it has valuable bioactive compounds that elicit anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Did you know Beer Spa is a thing?

▫️ Rye flour: a very common grain in Nordic cuisine, but not common in skincare. However, I have found this grain to be superior in cleansing ability. I can’t find information on why exactly it works so well. Let me know if you do!
