Today's White County History comes from the 1976 Kornpone Day Parade. Pictured here is the winning float from West Sparta School. West Sparta is now the YMCA Building, initially built back in 1948, and closed as a school in 1987 when Woodland Park Elementary was established, taking in students from Bakers School, West, and East Sparta.

You can see that part of the school's float was the slogan: "Tennesseans make America Great."

We have had a lot of votes this first week, but some of the pets still have not gotten a vote for themselves! If you want to support one of the contestants, as well as the Humane Society, call or swing by the office to vote before it's too late.
