Blue Cow Farm

SO MUCH prep went into getting the farm, animals, house, and dairy room ready for this weather, and it has paid off so far!

We are thankful this morning for power, running water, and healthy animals that are riding out this freeze well!

Last year at this time, we had frozen pipes and I am thankful that we are (so far) not dealing with that issue!

How are all of you in Southeast Texas doing?!

☑️ Mineral buffet refilled
☑️ New hay bale unloaded for the week

The cows love it when these two things happen to fall on the same day! 😆

My happy place this evening! Watching my oldest farm kid snuggle his pup and seeing Lilo finally EAT her food!

And not just nibbling, but eating her full rations!
She has been getting a concoction of vitamin B and boluses (huge cow pills) to help her rebound, along with access to our 21 organic mineral + vitamin bar.

We're so happy to see her feeling well again. She still needs support to get her body condition back after not eating for several days, but we were able to take a deep breath today and felt like we could say "she is going to be fine."
