The Shades of Motherhood Network is hosting a full day of real talk on April 15th — bringing together Black and Brown voices on maternal health, wellness, and what it takes to actually change the systems that fail us.

I’ll be joining Dr. Rekishia McMillan, Micheal Moody, Patricia Cruz, Kendra, Ebony Graham, Andrew Silas, Prosparetti Coleman, and others for an honest dialogue that goes beyond the surface.

Efficient HR Solutions was invited to speak specifically about Pregnancy Laws and what women need to know about their rights — because awareness is protection.

I’m excited to share that Efficient HR is growing.

We are expanding our capacity to support small businesses and nonprofit organizations with multilingual HR expertise and broader compliance experience. Efficient HR can now provide HR services and compliance support in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, and French, allowing us to better serve diverse teams and communities.

I’m pleased to welcome Nawal Guelzim to Efficient HR. Originally from Morocco, Nawal brings more than 25 years of international Human Resources leadership experience across multinational companies and public institutions. In addition to her PHR certification, she holds the THRP–NNHARA certification, a specialized credential in Tribal Human Resources in the United States. This strengthens our ability to support organizations working with or within Tribal communities.

This expansion enhances our depth, cultural fluency, and compliance expertise — while maintaining the same personalized service you trust.

If you want it shorter, more emotional, or more professional, say the word — I’ll tune it.

When I started in HR in the U.S., it was a tough start. A few people really tried to train me, but most of what I know today? I taught myself.

Then I went to SHRM’s National Convention and watched thousands of HR professionals line up to see Bill Clinton speak. And I remember thinking: what is happening right now? Why are we celebrating people associated with workplace misconduct when we’re literally supposed to prevent it?

That moment made something click for me: this is part of why people don’t trust HR. Too much PR, not enough integrity.

I’m not perfect, but I’m committed to humanizing HR and doing the work the right way—even when it’s uncomfortable. And honestly, that SHRM lawsuit tells a bigger story than most people realize… including what HR teams quietly suffer inside large organizations with nowhere to complain.

Self-care shows up in many forms — rest, movement, boundaries… and yes, sometimes a fresh haircut. ✂️✨

Every time we choose ourselves, even in small ways, we gain a little more confidence.
A little more strength.
A little more “this is who I am, and I’m proud of her.”

Self-care is a selfish act — and that’s exactly why it matters.
When you prioritize yourself, even in the middle of a busy day, you show up better for everyone else.
We all need those “selfish” moments to reset and rise. ✨
