I See Him

I see him smiling at his giant skillet,
Two hands on the handle
Like a shovel. He just wants to nourish us,
In his gigantic way, a stirfry fit for royalty.
The sesame and soy are our aromatherapy.
I see him in roots over rocks
And in the minute leaves and needles and twisted trunks of his miniature giants, sleeping gently on vibrant beds of moss.
I see him on the river, with child's delight,
I believe he can see the fish in the water.
I see him in the August sun on blazing cedar
In the brother's lineup. Blonde. Tan. Smiling.
And I see him, I will see him
forever in my heart.

Let's just give everybody guns: good guys, bad guys, trans guys, mentally-ill guys, gamer guys, skin heads, antifa, BLM guys, white nationalists, jihadistists. Then we'll say, let's just make sure we have "good" guys with guns. That should work.
