Wildfire smoke can affect your body and your mind! When smoke keeps you from the activities you enjoy, take care of yourself, and check in on those around you. Think about what helps you stay grounded and calm: - Get plenty of rest - Connect with friends and family - Try calming practices like meditation, yoga, stretching, journaling or listening to music - Reach out for help if you’re feeling overwhelmed Your well-being matters, especially during times of stress. Find more resources at SmokeReadySpokane.org.

Improving your indoor air quality can reduce your exposure to microscopic smoke particles. Here’s how: - Close windows and doors - Run a HEPA portable air cleaner or use a box fan with an attached MERV 13 filter - Avoid burning candles, incense, or scented products - Skip frying or broiling food If it’s hot and smoky, use your cooling system if you have one. If you don’t have a way to stay cool at home, spend time in a cool location or seek shelter elsewhere. Find more information, including how to set up a Cleaner Air Room, at SmokeReadySpokane.org.

One way is AirNow’s Fire and Smoke map at https://fire.airnow.gov/. You can download the free AirNow app for your phone or sign up to receive texts or email notifications.
