I do not believe in New Year’s resolutions but do always look at a new year a fresh clean slate to begin again. This year I’ve intentionally slowed down and am being more present in moments, time with people and even just in what I buy. I have found in the slow down I have less need for things and more need for moments. The need for less things is often met with the need to declutter, of which I am always going to do!

If you are feeling even remotely the same as me but feel stuck on how to begin that decluttering process, reach out! Consults are free and I love helping others reclaim their spaces!

Virtual sessions are also an option as well!

I started going back to the gym last week. I was already frazzled cause it’s been a minute since I’ve been there. I’ve always kept my code to my combination lock for my locker in my phone case. As I was running out the door I realized I didn’t have the code in there and had no clue where I put it. Immediately I began running through all the places it might be… spoiler alert… it wasn’t in any of those places.

So I still went to the gym but as I was driving there I thought “I’ll just buy another lock it’s no big deal.” But quite frankly it is a big deal because I already have one, I like that lock, the code for it is fairly simple even if my brain couldn’t remember those numbers at that moment and I don’t want another lock laying around my house.

I also had this thought. Most of the time I see clients homes that are cluttered because they keep buying stuff they already have but have lost due to lack of proper organization. This was my case as well. I did not store that paper in a proper place and it was pushing me to have to possibly go buy it again.

I eventually found it after saying a prayer asking God where it was at because he can see everything and I can’t. Ha it was in my old purse that I had been using when I was going to the gym.

And really the moral of this story, quit buying things you already have. Take the time to organize them in a way that they are easily accessible. Even utilize labels, which are huge help for those who are not visually oriented.
