Farmhouse Market

This week during our 11th birthday photo shoot for Farmhouse, I found myself reflecting on the past year… and honestly, it was the hardest one yet.

There were moments this past year where I truly didn’t know what the future of Farmhouse would look like. I carried so much fear, uncertainty, pressure, and weight on my shoulders. I spent so much time trying to figure everything out on my own and trying to control outcomes that were far bigger than me.

Eventually, I reached a point where I fully surrendered it all to the Lord. Every fear. Every financial worry. Every “what if.” Every dream. Every possible outcome.

And when I finally did that, I experienced a peace that I truly cannot explain other than it being supernatural. A peace that could only come from Him.

That surrender didn’t mean I suddenly knew what the future held. In fact, surrendering meant accepting that Farmhouse could continue on… or it could close its doors. It could mean stepping into a completely different chapter of life than the one I imagined for myself.

But somehow, even in the middle of all of those scary possibilities, I had peace because I knew no matter what happened… He had me.

God used so many people throughout this season to speak into my life in very specific and intentional ways. He used people to encourage me, to challenge me, to pray for me, and to guide me toward certain decisions and actions. There were moments where encouragement came at exactly the right time — in ways that felt so genuine and so clearly orchestrated by Him.

I’ll never forget having conversations with people about the possibility of me no longer running Farmhouse, or us potentially closing the doors one day, and talking about it with a calmness and peace that honestly didn’t make sense from a worldly perspective. Because deep down, I knew my identity was never supposed to be fully rooted in this business. It was rooted in Him.

Looking back now, I can see God’s hand all over this past year. Not because everything was easy — it absolutely wasn’t — but because He carried me through every uncertain moment of it.
