When I started The Fresh Chef a little over a year ago my number one goal was to help everyone from single people, busy families, active seniors and the elderly eat healthier with convenience. It was extremely hard for me to have to stop the business due to complications with my pregnancy. In the past ten months that I have been on maternity leave the demand for people needing meal delivery/ personal chef services has been very high in the Hernando county area. I literally was getting a call or message everyday from someone wanting to know about the services, and that was with no advertising!

About five months ago I started personal chef services for a few of my past clients that I knew really needed the help. It was hard to hear that their health had declined while I was out on leave, but it was also inspiring because I knew that what I was doing made a difference in people’s lives. It really got me thinking about what I could do to help others that were capable, create quick healthy meals that saved them time, money, their health and added quality back to their lives. But how? I’m only one person and I can’t cook for everyone, not to mention how much time that would take away from my family.

My number one passion next to food is teaching, I began mulling over the idea of hosting cooking parties centered around eating healthy. After talking it over with a few trusted friends I decided that it would be a great thing, but I didn’t need to reinvent the wheel. I began researching companies that already had the format in place, but had integrity in their products and how they were created. To my amazement I found an awesome company called Wildtree, they source their products from sustainable farms, are certified organic, have numerous Gluten Free products, and are free from preservatives and dyes which would be beneficial to so many of my clients. But the best part was they offer freezer meal workshops that use their products! So everyone can attend a workshop and conveniently have organic and GF spices and oils to create 10 meals in an hour to take home and put in their freezer saving them time and money, eliminating food waste and skipping takeout/ drive thrus!
