Keeping up with the economics of real estate - right now I’m listening to Dr. Ted Jones, Chief Economist with HAR, and here are some main points:
1. Houston is staged to have good economic growth for the next 25 years
2. The Texas Medical Center is a tremendous asset
3. For prospective buyers, inventory now provides homes to choose from
4. For prospective sellers, listen to your Realtor: stage, declutter, fix things to get the most out of your sale
5. The quicker you buy, the better off you’ll be (if you plan to stay for the next 5 years), so work to improve your credit score so you can afford a house quicker

Here’s a look at how October’s real estate market compares to this time last year. You can see that new and active listings have increased. More homes on the market (greater inventory) means we are moving toward a buyers market. It’s balanced right now.
