Have we forgotten what happened 20 years ago?
We are so divided, so angry and so bitter. 20 years ago on 9/11, it didn’t matter what your background was…We were Americans.

Today, I ask you to reflect on that and stop judging your neighbor, stop hating a stranger on social media and stop giving into the narrative of division.

The people in this image lost their lives due to hatred and as Americans, we owe it to them to be better and not take life for granted.

I remember those who lost their lives due to terrorism. I remember the brave individuals who rushed in to aid their fellow Americans. Today and always, I remember us as that America.

I was 15 years old at the time, but I remember the overwhelming heaviness of this day.

God be with America, the families that lost someone and those who defend our American freedoms.
