π₯π± Check out these photos from a prescribed burn at Cindyβs Redbud Nature Preserve!
For generations, Indigenous peoples and landowners, like Ray Audas and Cindy Martin of Redbud Preserve, have used controlled burns to reduce wildfire fuel, suppresses invasive species, and encourage healthy native plant growth.
During this burn, Ray and his team treated 20 acres, bringing the total burned at Redbud Preserve to approximately 125 acres. When we returned in spring, the prairie was thriving again β native plants were already reclaiming the landscape and emerging with vigor. πΌ
